Get Active this June as a lone Wolfe or as part of a pack!
The Urban Explorer is joining ParticipACTION and BIKE CALGARY to challenge bike enthusiasts to get out and ride. Show the nation we are the most active community in Canada.

The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative. It encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community. The winning community will be awarded $100,000 to support local sport and physical activity initiatives. Visit the ParticipACTION website for more details by using the link.
BikeFest is also back again this year! BIKE CALGARY is spending the month celebrating getting around by bicycle! Visit their website to check out the calendar of events, the 30-day bike challenge, film screening, and wrap-up.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to ride 8km. You can start or end this challenge a short distance from Sip Cafe in South Mount Royal Park. The route features some hidden gems while sharing information on the city’s heritage, culture and green spaces.

You will travel between two public art installations. The first is of General Wolfe (1898), installed in the community of Mount Royal in 2009. The second cast bronze sculpture was inspired by the original and placed in Inglewood in 2019.
The ride takes around 30 minutes, but this is not a race. We encourage you to stop and enjoy the destinations along the way. You will ride a mix of multi-use pathway and roadway. Please be aware of other users/traffic and proceed at your own risk. You are responsible for your safety, so be mindful while navigating the urban environment.
For pictures and more information on this ride, check out: Run or Bike Calgary’s Most Iconic Communities and Green Spaces.
We are tracking the number of people who take part so we can show we are the most active community in Canada
You can also pledge to get active for our community directly with ParticipACTION on their website by following the link.
Don’t forget to stop into Sip Cafe (2835 14 St SW) and stamp your Bingo card. Join the biking community in a city-wide bingo game for the BIKE CALGARY 30-day challenge.

The first 25 riders to complete the Biking with Wolfes Challenge will receive a free sticker.
